The Boston Globe’s Sesquicentennial Celebration:
Portrait of The Boston Globe as Atlas
A visual journey imagined through poetry and photography
From September 12 to October 2, we invite you to visit Seaport Commons to explore and experience our outdoor art installation, "Portrait of The Boston Globe as Atlas", a visual journey through a century and a half of iconic moments and events in our city's history.
This installation is a collaboration between The Boston Globe and Boston’s Poet Laureate, Porsha Olayiwola, who was commissioned by The Globe to write an original poem to help reflect upon our past, our mission and our long future of service to our community.
When you visit, you'll be able to explore this original poem alongside images and stories of some of our most impactful reporting through the years. Each one captures a moment in time that resonated for our city, for our region, for our people.
